Scriptorian Ltd Co ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Scriptorian mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining transparent, responsible data practices.
Information We Collect
The App may collect and store the following types of information to provide its core functionality:
- App usage data such as scripture passages you select, collections you create, practice history, memorization progress, goals, experience points, and app preferences
- Account information if you choose to create an account for features such as cloud syncing or group memorization (e.g., name, email address, profile picture)
- Group and messaging data including messages you send in group chats, reactions, mentions, and other content you share within groups
- Moderation data including reports you file, reports filed about you, warnings, and actions taken on your account for safety and community guideline enforcement
We do not collect location data. We do not use third-party advertising services.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information described above to:
- Provide core app functionality including spaced repetition scheduling, progress tracking, and exercise delivery
- Sync your data across devices if you opt in to cloud syncing
- Enable group and social features if you choose to participate
- Enforce our Community Guidelines and maintain a safe environment for all users
- Review reported content and take appropriate moderation actions
- Improve the App and develop new features
- Respond to support requests
Notifications
If you choose to enable daily reminders, the App uses your device's notification system to send scheduled reminders. You may disable notifications at any time through the App's settings or your device's system settings.
Content Moderation
To maintain a safe and respectful community, we may review messages and content shared within groups. This includes:
- Automated filtering of prohibited content (e.g., profanity, slurs, or sexually explicit language)
- Manual review of content that has been reported by other users
- Review of a user's message history when investigating a report
When content is reported, a snapshot of the reported message is preserved for review even if the original message is later deleted. Moderation actions (warnings, suspensions, or bans) are logged for accountability and may be used to inform future moderation decisions.
If your account is suspended or banned, you will be notified in the App with the reason for the action and instructions for how to appeal.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third-party advertisers. If you participate in group features, limited information (such as your display name, profile picture, and memorization progress) may be visible to other members of your group. We may use trusted service providers to host and deliver our services, subject to strict data protection obligations.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your progress data while keeping your account (Account > Reset Progress), or delete your account and all associated data entirely (Account > Delete Account). If you no longer have access to the app, you can request deletion by email. See our Delete Your Data page for full details.
Group messages are automatically deleted after 180 days. Moderation records (reports, warnings, and ban history) may be retained for as long as necessary to enforce our Community Guidelines and comply with legal obligations, even after account deletion.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with third-party advertising services. The App may be distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, which have their own privacy policies governing the download and installation process.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and secure storage practices. We recommend keeping your device's operating system updated and using a device passcode for additional security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
